Terry L. Yates, 61 of Batavia, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was born May 30, 1964 to the late Gaylor Ace Sr and Maryann (Maltby) Anderson of Middleport. She is preceded in death by brother Brian Ace.
Terry worked for many years at Family Dollar as Assistant Manager. She enjoyed the casino and BINGO, was an avid bowler, Buffalo Bills Fan and most of all race fan. Terry enjoyed beauty treatments with Chevelle and Hailey and family gatherings.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Daniel R. Yates of Batavia, children, Matthew Ace of Indiana, Chevelle Brimmer of Batavia, Dylan Yates of West Almond, NY; siblings, Gaylord Ace Jr, Barbara (Tom) Bodie, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Mae (Robert) Shafer of Middleport, grandchildren, Matthew, Hailey and Cole along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 4 to 8pm at Gilmartin Funeral Home, 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020. A 10am Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Alabama Cemetery, Alabama, NY.
