Shirley J. Williams

History: Shirley J. Williams, 78 of East Bethany, passed away on January 2, 2014 at her home. She was born July 13, 1935 in Corfu to the late William (Ella Maleski) Schosek. Shirley was retired from B.O.C.E.S. in Batavia and she was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Attica where she was very active for over 50 years. She volunteered at My Sister’s Closet in the YWCA and Meals on Wheels. She loved family gatherings, garage sales and baking especially pies. She is preceded in death by her husband Eldon F. Williams in 2008; brother Raymond Schosek, sisters Ruth Charvella and Ethel Perrone. Survived By: Survivors include her children Charles (Terry) Merritt of Batavia; Gary (Tracy) Merritt of LeRoy; Stephen (Danielle) Merritt of Batavia; Patricia (Dan) Brinkman of Elba; Judy Mills of LeRoy; Pamela (John) Saxon of Henrietta; Craig (Daneen) Williams of E. Bethany; Jeff Martin of Rochester; brother William Schosek of Ft. Myers, FL; sisters Dorothy Tupper of Clarence, Hazel Brownell of LeRoy, 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
