Sandra L. "Sandi" Boryczka

Sandra L. “Sandi” Boryczka, 58 of Elba, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born February 5, 1968 in Batavia, to the late William and Rita (Reiner) Hynes. She is preceded in death by her brother, Michael Hynes.

Sandi graduated from RIT, she went on to work as ASCP Medical Technologist for 32 years and later Chemistry Supervisor at United Memorial Medical Center. She enjoyed spinning yarn, knitting, Tinkerbell and black cats. Sandi loved nothing more than being with her family.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Thomas Boryczka of Elba, daughters, Jennifer (Fiance Alex Lozada) Boryczka of Springfield, MA, Ashley (Joseph) Maier of Memphis, NY; sister, Beth (Adam) Miller of Bethany, grandchildren, William, Rose, John and Therese; special niece, Emily (Nick) Guarino, sister from another mister Deborah (Leo) Starowitz of Elba, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 4 to 8pm at Gilmartin Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest privately in Grand View Cemetery.
