Priscilla Violette Bobka

Priscilla Violette Bobka, 88 of Dunkirk, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026 at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo. She was born October 12, 1937 in Presque Isle, ME, to the late Adrian and Anita (Cyr) Violette. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Bobka whom she married in 1964, sister, Jeanne Violette, brother-in-law Rudolph (Marilyn) Bobka and sister-in-law, Kathleen Violette.

Mrs. Bobka, graduated from high school in 1956, she then went on to attend the University of Maine and in 1960 she moved to Batavia. She worked as a French teacher in Batavia City Schools. Family was her life and she was thankful to have the chance to stay home to raise her daughter, then be able to babysit her grandchildren. She and her husband John built a cabin in the Adirondack’s and loved spending time there. Mr. and Mrs. Bobka, moved to Dunkirk in 2005 to be near their family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fredonia and was very active in the Ladies Guild.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Susan (Matthew) Fountain of Dunkirk, grandson, Jonathan (Kayla) A. Fountain of Waterford, CT, granddaughter, Sarah E. Fountain of Woodbridge, CT, and great-grandson, Adrian J. Fountain, siblings, Frederick Violette of Latervernia, FL, Charles (Margaret) Violette of Presque Isle, ME, James (Tamara) Violette of ME, Barbara Violette of Pawleys Island, SC; along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a 11:00AM Celebration of Life, Saturday, March 21, 2026 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 334 Temple Street, Fredonia, NY 14063. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
