Celebrating a Life Well Lived, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, Peter Niggli, on October 16, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Rochester, NY on July 6, 1941, Peter touched the lives of many with kindness and generosity.
Peter enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served from 1961-1965. After his dedicated service to his country, Peter worked as an Instrument Mechanic at Eastman Kodak from 1965-1991. Outside of work, Peter’s passions were his family; woodworking; any of his favorite outdoor adventures like canoeing on lakes, bays and quiet rivers; bicycling; motorcycling, including a trip to California that he spoke about with such joy and gratitude; and car rides always choosing the road less traveled. Later in life, his skills to adapt bicycles for children with health impairments became his passion.
Peter will also be remembered for his personal relationship with God and in his later years passionately sharing the word of the Lord, his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Peter is survived by his daughter, Barbara Niggli, his son, Brian Niggli, his grandchildren, Stephanie (Jon), Amanda (Rich), four great grandchildren, his sister, RoJean “Jo” Kling (Jim), and friends, who will cherish his memories and honor his spirit. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Margaret “Peg” Niggli.
A Military Service will be held on November 19, 2025, at the Western NY National Cemetery in Corfu, beginning at 1:00PM. Anyone that plans on attending, please arrive by 12:45PM.
Peter will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love, passions, kindness, he brought into the world and his forever salutation, “Until”.
