Pearl M. Hyatt

Pearl Mabel Hyatt, 87, retired from Howard Hanna Real Estate, passed away Friday, October 17th, 2025, in Batavia, NY, at home with her loving husband of 67 years, Lee Hyatt. She was born in Rimersburg, PA, a daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Henry. She lived in Rimersburg until moving to Batavia, with Lee, in 1962.

In the early 70’s, Mrs. Hyatt began her 44-year career in real estate with Dick Feary. In 1980, she became a partner in the company, renamed Feary-Hyatt Realty. When Mr. Feary retired, she became sole owner. She served a term as President of the Genesee Valley Board of Realtors and in 1987 was awarded Realtor of the Year.

Pearl had a real joy in helping families find a home. She was known to work as hard for buyers and sellers of inexpensive homes as higher priced homes. She had a wealth of real estate knowledge and was always generous in assisting fellow agents, if needed. She loved helping others so much that she didn’t retire until age 80.

Despite being busy raising a family and selling real estate, Mrs. Hyatt found time to be active in community service. She served as President of the Zonta Club and in 1991 was voted “Woman of the Year”. She also served as President of the Batavia Professional Business Women’s organization and was actively involved for over 40 years. She volunteered countless hours in the community, supporting the YWCA, Scouting programs and other youth programs.

Pearl was an active member of the First Baptist Church, including being on several Boards and started the Thrift Shoppe. She worked countless hours in helping the Thrift Shoppe become successful in order to give back to the church and the community. She also actively assisted any church members in need.

Pearl’s best friend was her beloved husband, Lee. Married for 67 years, the two enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter with family and friends, playing golf, cards and bocce. They also traveled across the US and abroad, touring England, France, Italy and Israel. As long as the two were together, they enjoyed their adventures.

Above all else, Pearl’s greatest joys were serving God and her family. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her entire world, filling them with love and attention every day. She was so proud to watch her grandchildren in their activities, be it sports, dance recitals, etc. She especially looked forward to the holidays when she hosted gatherings for family and friends, planning activities and preparing meals. Any spare time she had was spent with her grandchildren.

Pearl is survived by her devoted husband, Lee; her son, Jeffrey (Diana) Hyatt, her daughter, Robin Nanni (Robert Christner Jr.); her beloved grandchildren, Ryan Nanni (Morgan Sparks), Alexander Hyatt, Stephanie (Hunter) Jordan, Rachel (Jeremy) Hyatt-Smith, Sarah (Jordan) Basye, and Lillian Hyatt; and great-grandchildren, Alivia and Lincoln Smith, and Mitchell Hyatt. She’s also survived by siblings Phyllis Ricker (late William), late Leroy Henry (Bessie), Lois McFadden (late Larry), late Walter Henry (Pat), Joanne Hosey (David), and Kevin Henry (Annette). She’s also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
