Michael Jerome Wittmeyer

Michael Jerome Wittmeyer was born on December 10, 2002 in Guatamala and raised in Batavia, NY the cherished son of Jerome and Lisa Pellegrino Wittmeyer. Michael left us suddenly to be with the Lord on June 20, 2026. Michael was a 2021 graduate of Batavia High School and was affectionately known to his friends as MJW or “Big Guatta.”

Michael was known by many and touched many hearts in his short lifetime. He lived with a passion for life as evidenced by his contagious smile. He loved his friends as family, his food (especially tacos and pizza), fishing, his truck, and his four-wheeler. He lived by the by the mantra “work hard, play hard.” He was proud of his Guatamalan heritage. Michael was an employee of H.P. Hood for the last four years.

 Along with his parents Michael is survived by his brother, Matthew Rocco Pellegrino Wittmeyer, whom he was very proud of. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Rocco and Deborah Pellegrino, and his paternal grandfather, Jerome Wittmeyer. He was part of a large loving family that also includes many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was especially close to his godparents, Sabrina Figler and Rocco Pellegrino, Jr, and his dear cousin Natalie Clark. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Patricia Wittmeyer and his cousin Richard James Pound. 

Friends are invited to call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Gilmartin Funeral Home 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, NY 14020. A 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 27th at Ascension Parish 19 Summer Street in Batavia.
