Lucille P. Dora

Lucille (Lu) P. (Maniace) Dora was called home on October 28, 2026. Born on April 4, 1934, in Batavia, NY, to the late Salvatore and Phyllis (LaLoggia) Maniace, she was a life-long resident of Batavia, she graduated from Batavia High School and later retired from AC Delco in Rochester but also worked at Sylvania and WT Grants in Batavia. A devoted member of Ascension Parish, Lucille cherished her strong relationship with her Savior and was a long-time member of the Notre Dame Prayer Group.

Lucille loved spending time with her family, friends, and especially her sisters. She enjoyed holiday baking with her sisters, traditionally preparing hundreds of Italian Christmas cookies to share with family and friends. She would look forward to her routine Friday breakfast with the ladies at Town & Country Restaurant. Lucille was a giver at heart and would go out of her way to assist someone that needed it. She helped coordinate donations annually for the Notre Dame Prayer Group's annual holiday food baskets for those in need. She enjoyed traveling, playing BINGO, going to the harness races & casino, and watching Sunday football, especially the Buffalo Bills.

Coming from a strong Sicilian heritage, Lucille was one of eighteen children. She was predeceased by her brothers John, Charles, Samuel, Franklin (Ace), and Dominic Maniace, as well as her sisters Josephine DeFazio, Frances Mandelar, Mary Jacobs, Angeline Siracuse, and Dorothy Shaffer. Also, by her brothers-in-law Neil Jacobs, and John Torres, alongside her sister-in-law Nicolina Maniace.

She is survived by her brothers Michael (Beverly), Joseph (Joan), Nathan, Richard (Cathy), and Robert Maniace. and her sisters including Linda Maniace and Rose Marie Torres. Also by her brother-in-law, Les Shaffer. She leaves behind several very special nieces and nephews, including Ryan (Renee) Maniace, as well as cherished great nieces and nephews.
