Louis J. Lang, 82, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at Crossroads House, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on November 15, 1942 to the late Louis and Helen (Elm) Lang.
Louie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diane (Dixon) Lang; his children, Michelle (Joseph) Auricchio and Jeffrey (Danielle) Lang; sister Louise "Pinky" (Melvin "Ozzie") Osborn and his cherished grandsons, Rocco and Anthony Auricchio and Tyler Lang, along with several nieces and nephews.Louie lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family.
He proudly served in the United States Navy before beginning a distinguished 35-year career with the New York State Police, retiring as a Criminal Investigator. Never one to stay idle, Louie also founded the family roofing and gutter business, Louis J. Lang & Son, where he continued to work side by side with his son.
Louie’s greatest joy came from spending time outdoors — hunting, fishing, and sharing his passion for nature with his grandsons. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose wisdom, humor, and loud opinions left an enduring mark on everyone who knew him. He was also an avid sports fan who rarely missed a Buffalo Bills game (Go Bills!) — and enjoyed following NASCAR. He was devoted member of the Batavia Rod and Gun Club, VFW and Vice President of the Association of Former NYS Troopers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 17, 2025 at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s Site) 303 East Main St. Batavia. A Graveside Service will follow at St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
