Katherine A. Thurheimer

Katherine A. Thurheimer, 56, of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022. Kathy was born in Watertown, NY on July 14, 1965 to Dean and Patricia (Kendall) Thurheimer. She was raised in Adams Center, NY and attended South Jefferson Central Schools from K-12, graduating with a NY Regents diploma. She attended Albany College of Pharmacy, earning a BS in Pharmacy in 1988. Kathy worked as a pharmacist at several hospitals and nursing homes, starting at Mercy Hospital in Watertown, NY, and most recently at Rochester General Hospital as Manager of Long Term Care Pharmacy Services. She was also employed by Omnicare for several years, a pharmacy for long term care and assisted living facilities. Kathy was married to Michael D. Eichner of Fairport, NY, on December 9, 2006, at their home in Rochester. There they raised an adorable and (mostly) well behaved puppy named Divot (Divi). Kathy loved her baby, and loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved spending time at her cottage on Lake Ontario, in Sackets Harbor, NY. We’re so thankful she got to enjoy that for her last few years with us. She knew how to have fun, especially in her younger years, and always had the biggest, brightest smile! She was such a generous person and saw the good in everyone, and she really just loved life! May we all be inspired to live as she did. Kathy is survived by her husband, Mike; sisters Keira and Karen Thurheimer, both of Adams Center, NY; a brother Kenneth, of Chapel Hill, NC; mother-in-law Lorena Eichner, sister-in-law Cathleen Eichner and nephew Michael A. Eichner, all of Fairport, NY; and a large, extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Dean and Pat; two brothers, Eric, of Durham, NC, and Kurt, of Adams Center, NY; and father-in-law Clifford Eichner, of Fairport, NY. There will be a celebration of life gathering on July 16, 2022, from 3-6PM at Iron Smoke Distillery, 111 Parce Ave., Suite 5B, Fairport, NY, 14450. Or just raise a glass to Kathy wherever, whenever!
