Joan Szatkowski

Joan Szatkowski, 70, of Batavia passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026 at Crossroads House. She was born on November 11, 1955 in Batavia to the late Joseph Sr. and Dorothy (Leonard) Wenzel. In addition to her parents, Joan is predeceased by her life partner; Raymond Chudoba; brothers Jonathon and Joseph Jr. Wenzel; sister Mary Francis Wenzel.

Joan will be remembered for her love of camping at Hamlin Beach, Mountain Dew, watching Food Network and game shows. 

She is survived by her children; Michael Szatkowski and Tracy Bowman; siblings Karen Corp, Heidi (Pete) Schollard, Jolene (Bill) Morales, JodiAnn (James ) Battistella, Jennifer (Ross) Jarvela, Jimmy (Stephanie) Wenzel, Jeffrey (Joanne) Wenzel, Sharon ( Dean) Lyke; grandchildren Andrea (Caleb) Kirch, Angel Bowman, Dylan (Ariel) Mather, December Mather; great-grandchildren Chandler, Josie, Marley, Tristen, Xoey, Ryker, Leo, Damien and Braxton, along with many nieces and nephews. 

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday September 3, 2026 from 11:00AM-12:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home 329-333 West Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery where Joan will be laid to rest. A celebration of life will follow the Services.
