Janet L. "Lucy" Taylor

Janet L. “Lucy” Taylor, 91, of Elba passed away on January 24, 2026 at the United Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Farmersville, NY on January 29, 1934 to the late Paul and Elce (Wilder) Slocum. She is predeceased by her husband; Richard H. Taylor; She was also predeceased in death by her brother; Keith Slocum of Florida; daughters Cindy Wilsey of Virginia and stillborn baby Lisa.

She is survived by her daughters; Rebecca Kelly, wife of the late Donald Kelly, Michele Taylor, and Jill D’Angelo, husband of Dino D’Angelo; brother David Slocum of Farmersville, NY; grandchildren Joshua Kelly and partner Jodi Denneen, Joel Kelly and wife Megan Myers-Kelly, Ashley Sutherland and husband Billy Sutherland, Heidi DeGroat and husband Collin, Holly Wilsey and husband Erik Malone, Katie Laney and husband David (Buddy), Joseph Taylor and wife Kathryn, twin brothers Ethan and Noah D’Angelo; great-grandchildren Zackery and Jackson Kelly, Braedyn Christensen, Diem Laney (sweet pea), Avery Kelly, Jonathan, Nate, Zoey and Malcolm DeGroat as well as her dear friend and neighbor Jason Gillard.

She worked as a nurse’s aide at Elba Central School. Family was everything to Janet. She enjoyed being outside gardening and feeding the birds, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, traveling with her “Golden Girl” friends Carol, Carol and Linda, loved visiting new places and going out to eat. She will be truly missed.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
