Jane V. Scalia

History: Jane V. Scalia, 88 of Batavia, passed away on Monday July 29, 2013 at the United Memorial Medical Center. She was born on March 4, 1925 in Batavia to the late Peter (Jennie Gallina) Scalia. Ms. Scalia worked for Doehler Jarvis, Kodak, A&P Supermarket, Super Duper, and Jubilee. She was a longtime member of Ascension Parish-St. Anthony’s Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the St. Nicholas Social Club Auxiliary. Ms. Scalia enjoyed Bingo, Cards, Crossword Puzzles, traveling and was known as an amazing storyteller. Her greatest joy was being a loving part of her nieces and nephews lives. She is preceded in death by her sister Mary (Lawrence) Barone, brother-in-law Norman Havens, and great-nephew Peter “PJ” Scalia, Jr. Survived By: She is survived by her brother Anthony (Julia) Scalia of Batavia; sister Anna Mae “Anne” Havens of Batavia, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Visitation: Her wishes were to have no prior calling hours. Services: A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Ascension Parish 19 Sumner St. Batavia, NY 14020. Burial: Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Genesee Cancer Assistance 16 Bank St. Batavia, NY 14020.
