Glenn Hammond

Glenn Hammond, 68, of Batavia, NY passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026 at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bell Island, Newfoundland, Canada on October 11, 1957 to the late Herbert and Lucy Hammond. In addition to his parents whom he loved dearly; Glenn is predeceased by his sister; Paula Hammond; son in law Sean.

Glenn and his family migrated to the United States when he was seven years old. At the age of 18 he joined the United States Navy. He proudly served from 1975 to 1977 aboard the USS Whipple. His military service reflected the values that defined his life; honor, loyalty, resilience, and unwavering dedication. To those who knew him, Glenn was a man of remarkable strength and character. He possessed quick wit, an unforgettable sense of humor and an ability to make those around him laugh.

Following his military service, Glenn built a lifetime of honest, hard-working employment. He worked for Canada Dry where he was known for his strong work ethic and later spent his years behind the wheel for NY Trailways. No matter what life threw at him, he always had his wife Patricia at his side; his rock, safe place and home. Glenn first and foremost loved God, his Country, family, friends, and the New York Rangers.

He is survived by his wife; Patricia Hammond; children Nicole (dusty) Langford, Kelly Hinton, Keith Hammond, Lauren Hammond, and Deanna Hammond; brother Gary (Birgitt) Hammond; 10 grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Glenn’s legacy lives on through the values he instilled and the laughter he shared. He will be deeply missed forever, loved and never forgotten. “Fair winds and following seas”
