Dylan Sergei Pehrson, 23, of Batavia, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Born Sergei Alexandrovich Agapatov in Petrozavodsk, Karelia, Russia on July 15, 2002. Dylan was adopted along with his sister, Lidia, in March of 2005 by his mother and father Deirdre and Michael Pehrson. Dylan was their “Answered prayer and dream come true”.
Dylan attended Batavia City Schools and participated in many activities. In Kindergarten he was delighted to play the president in the class play and was so cute and engaging. Dylan participated in Band enjoying several Band trips. He ran cross-country and track and always loved the social nature of the team. Dylan played one year of varsity hockey but his heart was with the Ramparts where he played for 14 years. It didn’t matter what mood he was in; he always came off the ice happy. Dylan was a boy scout where he participated with his father and made many friends.
While in high school, Dylan also attended Genesee Valley BOCES in the Building Trades program. As a youth, he proudly participated in Camp Hard Hat building projects at the Genesee County Park. As a Building Trades student, he was honored to become a student teacher for the young builders in Camp Hard Hat. Presently, Dylan was attending GCC to start towards a degree in Computer Science.
Dylan, also known as “Russia”, was proud of his heritage. He was mischievous and handsome. Dylan was funny and had smiling eyes. Dylan was playful and very good with children. Dylan carried a certain conviction in his point of view and was always trying to figure out how things worked. Dylan loved to cook and felt a recipe was just an opinion of how to make delicious meals. He loved to fish and write and make music.
Dylan’s greatest love and achievement in life was his daughter Ozzlynn. Dylan excelled at being a father. He wanted to be the best person for her and put all his efforts into creating a safe loving, happy and nurturing life for her. He was so proud to be her Daddy.
Dylan was preceded in death by his father, Michael Pehrson, uncle Timothy Pehrson, Grandfather Donald Pehrson and Grandparents Ivan and Mary McGinnis. He is survived by his mother Deirdre Pehrson and sister Lidia Pehrson. Also surviving are his daughter Ozzlynn Pehrson-Cruz and mother of his child Maria Cruz. Dylan leaves behind his love and partner Athena Nesbeth and her son Jose whom he considered his future family with Ozzlynn moving forward in life.
Dylan is survived by a large and wonderful extended family and many terrific friends. Included are Aunt, Denise Bullard and her children Ben, Matthew (Brittany) and MacKenzie (Becca) Bullard, Aunts and Uncles Cathy and Tony DeMare and their children Amanda (Jake) and Jessica (Nic) Grandmother, Audrey Pehrson, Aunts and Uncles Debra (Anders) Hagelin, Daniel (Laura) Pehrson and their children David (Silvia) Bodin and their children Jayd (Noah) and Kaylee, Michael (Megan) Pissott and Lauren (Bradley) Hayes and their children Hudson, Charlotte and Eliza, Cynthia and John Canale and their children Rebecca (Ryan) Bell and Nathan, Barbara and Charles Pangrazio and their children, Chelsie (Daniel) Laudico, children Ky’Reese, Karter, Kerigan and Knox, Marissa (Derek) Grillone and son Grayson, Spencer and Jacob Pangrazio. Also, included are Christine (Erik) Saluste, daughter Amber Pehrson and her children Nolan and Rosalyn and Corrine (Eric) Saluste, cousin Joshua (Heather) PehrsonDylan was surrounded by the love of family and friends which was important to him.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 25th 2026 from 4:00-8:00pm at Gilmartin Funeral Home 329-333 West Main St Batavia. 11:00AM Funeral Services will be held on Friday June 26th at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Ave. Batavia NY. Dylan will be laid to rest at Grandview Cemetery on Clinton St. in Batavia following the Funeral.
