Dolores M. Wackenheim

July 4, 1935 — August 12, 2025

Dolores M. Wackenheim of Hermitage, TN formerly of Attica, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025 at the McKendree Village Retirement Community in Hermitage, TN. She was born on July 4th 1935 to the late Andrew and Mary (Podwika) Owczarzak. She is predeceased by brothers Donald and Richard Owczarzak.


Dolores was a homemaker and part time secretary at Attica Lumber Co. in Attica. She was a longtime member of St Joachim & Anne Church (formerly St. Vincent’s) and volunteered on the funeral luncheon committee. She worked on the Wyoming County Board of Elections. She married Russel on August 28th 1954 and they spent many happy years together. Her greatest joy were her visits with her Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving & caring Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her.


Dolores is survived by her husband of 70 years Russel; son Thomas (Lori) Wackenheim of Lebanon, TN; daughter Susan (Keith) Hargraves of Longs, SC; Grandchildren Heidi Cropp of Batavia, Lindsay (Steven) Balram of Cumberland, RI, Scott (Nicole) Wackenheim of Lebanon, TN, Tracy (Eric) Hart of Canandaigua, NY and Brandon Cooper of Conshohocken, PA; Great Grandchildren Tyler & Mason Dominiak, Gia & Weston Wackenheim and Isabelle Hart, along with Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.


There will be no prior calling hours. A 10:30AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2025 at St. John Neumann Parish (St. Vincent’s site) 50 East Ave. Attica, NY 14011. Dolores will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica.
