Clarice E. Shepard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clarice Eileen Shepard, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Clarice passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 19TH, 1931, in Batavia, Clarice dedicated her life to her family, volunteering, and to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Clarice was preceded in death by her mother, Viola (Kreger) Bates, and father, Clarence Bates.On November 23, 1950, she married the love of her life, Gerald Shepard, with whom she just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. 

Together they raised three children. Marcia Lawlor (James) of Blue Point, NY, Steven Shepard (Jodie) of Estero, Florida, and Jackie Shepard of Batavia. Clarice was the proud grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 4.

A private service will be held for family and close friends at a future date.
