Betty R. Harris

Betty R. Harris, 77, of Oakfield passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday August 17, 2016 at her home. She was born July 21, 1939 in Batavia to the late Joseph (Mary) Ruffino. Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by her son Scott Harris; brothers Harry, Larry and Anthony; sisters Laura Spadacino and Sarah Ficarella. Mrs. Harris was a woman of faith as a member of St Padre Pio in Oakfied and the former St. Anthony's in Batavia. She is retired from Comstock foods, Strippit and was a beloved “lunch lady” at Batavia Middle School. Betty was a long time member of the OOYC. She was a devoted wife, mother, Noni, and great-Noni. Family was everything to her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jack M. Harris of Oakfield; daughters Suzanne (Tim) Schultz of Oakfield; Pamela (Ron) Bordinaro of Batavia; Jacqueline Cole of Oakfield; daughter-in-law Karen Harris of Oakfield; sister-in-law Connie (Loren) Clark of Batavia; 13 grandchildren Rochelle (Grant) Matla, Ashley (Ryan) Torchia, Nicholas (Nina) Harris, Kyle (Kim) Hunt, Jillian (Brett) Jasinski, Corey Harris, Bronson Cole, Mckenzie Harris, Casey Cole, Evan Cole, Harmony Bordinaro, Ryan (Danielle) Schultz and Joshua Schultz; 7 great-grandchildren Liam, Jackson, George, Isabella, Kaysen, Tanner and Zane, along with many nieces and nephews. There will be no prior calling hours. An 11:00AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday August 23, 2016 at St. Padre Pio Parish 56 Maple Ave. Oakfield, NY 14125. She will be laid to rest in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Oakfield. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Boaters Against Cancer C/O David Bentley 1086 Norway Road Kendall, NY 14476.
