Betty A. Avery

Betty A. Avery, 81, of Basom passed away on January 1, 2026 at her home. She was born in Arizona on August 6, 1944. In addition other parents, Betty is predeceased by her husband: Daniel Avery.

In loving memory of our purple grandma, there are people who leave fingerprints on your heart forever, and our beloved grandma was one of them. Known lovely as purple grandma, she was beauty and the truest form, not just in how she looked, but how she loved, listened, and made everyone around her, feel safe and seen.

She carried kindness like second nature. Her warmth could soften the hardest days, her laughter could lift a room, and her presence felt like Home. Her prayers brought comfort, and her love, felt like a warm embrace from heaven. She gave love freely and without expectation, teaching us by example, what it means to be gentle, patient, and deeply compassionate.

Purple was her signature, a reflection of her spirit: rare, vibrant, comforting, and full quiet strength. Purple symbolize, the royalty of her faith and beauty of a soul anchored in Christ.

She lived with Grace, loved with her whole heart, and gave more of herself, and she ever asked for in return. Being her grandchild was a gift, and knowing her was a blessing. Though our hearts ache as we grieve her earthly absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life. We take comfort knowing she has been welcomed home. Her love did not leave with her. It lives on the stories we tell, the lesson she taught us, the traditions she created, and the way we love each other because of her. She will forever be our guiding light, our safe place, our purple grandma.

Rest in eternal peace, beautiful soul, until we meet again, may we honor you by living the faith you gracefully showed us. You endlessly loved, deeply missed, always cherished and forever our purple grandma.

She is survived by her daughters; Penny Avery of Canada and Sherry Bartz of LeRoy; grandchildren Brandi Heidenreich, Daniel Heidenreich and Tiffany Bartz; great-granddaughter Wynter Raffel.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.
