History: Anthony “Britt” DiMartino, 84 of Batavia, passed away on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born August 30, 1928 in Batavia to the late Francesco (Antoinette DiPietro) DiMartino. Mr. DiMartino was the Manager of Mancuso Bowling Alley for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran; lifetime member of the St. Nicholas Social Club and was the President of Babe Ruth Senior League Baseball in Batavia for 18 years. Mr. DiMartino was a proud member of the Batavia Bowling Hall of Fame along with being part of the first father and son inductees. Britt was a lifetime member of Ascension Parish-St. Anthony’s Church, Our Lady of Loreto, and the St. Nicholas Society. He was also very active in fundraising for numerous organizations years ago and was awarded Outstanding Italian American by the Paolo Busti Cultural Foundation. He is preceded in death by his daughter Linda Anne DiMartino Engelhardt; brother Frederick DiMartino and a sister Angeline Wyrwa. Survived By: Britt is survived by his beloved wife Providence (Gullo) DiMartino of Batavia; sons Phillip (Susan); Frank (Maria) both of Batavia; Anthony (Helen) DiMartino; sister Mary DiMartino of Batavia; 9 grandchildren Matthew, Lindsey, Jason, Ryan, Taylor, Hannah DiMartino; Brandon Hines; Ricky and Mary Noel Engelhardt; 2 great-grandchildren Gavin and Dylan DiMartino; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Friends are invited to call on Sunday August 4, 2013 from 2 to 5 PM at the Funeral Home. Services: A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday August 5, 2013 at Ascension Parish 19 Sumner St. Batavia, NY 14020. Burial: Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia. Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the United Memorial Medical Center Foundation 127 North St. Batavia, NY 14020.
